In 1910 she and James and their three children lived in a house that they were renting on Central Avenue in Millerstown (now Chicora), PA. James was a driller of oil wells.

In 1920 she and her husband and daughters lived in a house they were renting at 307 North Star Street in Eldorado, KS. James was a driller in the oil fields and Mildred was an office assistant in a dental office.
