Mae Bell "Granny" Lane, 85, of Hickory, passed away November 10, 2010 at Palliative Care Center & Hospice of Catawba Valley.

Born April 27, 1925 in Alexander Co., she was the daughter of the late Julius Sardius and Bessie Priscilla Bolick Lail.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lane was preceded in death by her husband, Oskey Glenn Lane; sister, Rosella White; brothers: Gaither Lee Lail, Fred Dewitt Lail, Dexter David Lail, Troy Pardue Lail, Clyde Timothy Lail, Dock Henry Lail, Perry Franklin Lail; sons: Larry Glenn Lane, Paul Allen "Pete" Lane; and grandson, Richard Allen Lane.

Mrs. Lane was a loving person who thoroughly enjoyed her church, Emmanuel Baptist.

She is survived by her sister, Maudie Elizabeth Meyers; daughters; Patsy E. Warren and husband Gary, Cathy D. Wyatt and husband Jeffrey; sons, Charles "Roy" Lane and wife Judy, John W. Lane and wife Myrtle; daughter-in-law, Mary Ruth Lane; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and special nieces; Margaret Deal, Rosemary Bickle, Joann Thompson.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, November13, 2010 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Conover with Pastors Brian Correll and Harold Smith officiating. The body will lie- in- state at the church from 12:00 – 1:00 pm Saturday. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6:30 – 8:30 pm at the church.

Pallbearers will be Clyde Carver, Shawn Thomas, Shawn Cale, Dwight Deal, Dale Brown, and Brad Higgins.
