Alex Tribune, Alex, Grady Co., OK, Friday, April 30, 1920: "Burial of Miss Ireton - Miss Mamie Ireton aged 27 years who was so severely burned Friday afternoon, April 23, that she died that night, was buried in the family cemetery just north of Alex, Monday, April 2 at 5 o'clock p.m. A vacant place in the home and community is made by her passing away, but we believe a vacant place in the paradise of God is now filled, therefore we sorrow not as others who have no hope. We were pleased to learn her home people and friends loved her so much that a large crowd of them would gather together at her grave to view her body for the last time in this world. The writer conducted the funeral services and endeavored to speak words of comfort to the sorrowing friends and relatives and words of warning to all. At the close we bowed our heads in prayer and asked our heavenly Father to help us to live so that some sweet day in the by and by we may meet our loved ones in that everlasting home of the soul--heaven. C. B. Glasgow."

Before her death, Mamie Ireton was last found on 1920 census, dated January 6, 1920, in Garfield Co., OK. She was living in the Oklahoma Institute for Feeble Minded which opened its doors in 1910. From 1910 through 1992, this same institution was know as the Northern Oklahoma Hospital, the Enid State School and the Northern Oklahoma Resource Center of Enid.
