Thomas V. Ireton was actually born in Indian Territory since Oklahoma didn't come into being until 1907. His family lived in what was known then as the "Ireton Community", named after his father, John Ireton.
After his parents died, Thomas and brother Jackson were found counted on two census records in 1910.... at the St. Joseph Catholic Boarding School in Chickasha, OK and also in the home of Billy Trash.
By 1920 though, Thomas and Jackson were both attending the Murray State School of Agriculture in Johnston Co., OK.
