D/O John Ireton and Mary (Johnson).

Her family lived in what was known then as the "Ireton Community", named after her father, John Ireton.

This child is found on the 1900 census as "Amanda E. Ireton, born April 1884, age 16" and researchers of the Ireton family say her name is "Amanda Elizabeth Ireton". Her tombstone only shows her as "Lizzie M. Ireton".

This is the front of Lizzie Ireton's monument. It is a beautiful monument and in excellent shape on this side. Not so good on the back side though. The heavy stone base is broken open and the "chamber" (such as where you see Lizzie's name in this photo) also has a large hole. Be sure and look at the last photo posted which is a close up of the statue on the monument.

This is the east side of Lizzie Ireton's monument. It is broken and we wonder at the uniqueness of this monument. It's almost as if there was an inside chamber. We could see no inscription on the broken side of the monument. The large lower part of side of the monument has also been broken open.

It's amazing that this statue atop Lizzie Ireton's monument is still in such good condition. Can you imagine what it must have taken to actually get a monument such as this one and the angel monument (which stands beside this one) to Indian Territory!
