Jeremiah "Jerry" Vail, Jr. was my great-grandfather. He was the son of Jeremiah Vail, Sr. and 1. Mary Bradley and grandson of John Michael Vail and Rachel Funderburk. Jeremiah married Eugenia Coleman, daughter of William Coleman and Sarah Ogden, on Oct. 8, 1869, in Bienville Parish, LA. Children: Jeremiah "Francis" Greenberry Vail b. 1870, James Wesley "Bud" Vail b. 1872, William Monroe "Will" Vail b. 1874, *Thomas Jefferson "Tom" Vail b. April 24, 1878, George "Bee" Washington b. 1880, Ola (S. V.) Vail b. 1883, Ida Mae Vail Knotts b. 1886, Edward "Ed" Vail b. 1888, Letha Vail b. 1892 and "Josie" Cornelia Vail McCann b. 1894. All of the children were born in Mt. Olive, Bienville Parish, LA.
