Great-Great-Uncle Jonas was the son of Mary Bradley and Jeremiah Vail, Sr. He married Julia Ann Samantha Gainey, daughter of Sarah Ann Souls and William Franklin Gainey, on Sept. 1, 1889 in Jackson Parish, Louisiana. Aunt Julia was a sister of Savannah Cordelia Gainey Wilson Vail Alexander. Children: Sherman Edward, Sarah Edna, Effie Ruth (Washer), Henry Pressley, Delia, Morgan and Leon Vail.
