Eugenia Coleman was my great-grandmother. She was the daughter of William Coleman born 1802 Tennessee and 1. Sarah "Sally/Sallie" Ogden, of Bienville Parish, LA; granddaughter of Daniel Ogden and Mary Sapp, of Tattnall Co., Georgia. She married Jeremiah Vail, Jr. on Oct. 8, 1869 in Bienville or Jackson Parish, LA. He was the son of Jeremiah Vail, Sr. and Mary Bradley. Eugenia and Jeremiah were the parents of six sons and four daughters. They are: Jeremiah "Francis" Greenberry Vail, James Wesley "Bud" Vail, William Monroe "Will" Vail, Thomas Jefferson "Tom" Vail, George B. Washington "Bee" Vail, Ola (S. V.) Vail, "Ida" Mae Vail Knotts, Edward "Ed" Vail, Letha Vail and Josie Cornelia Vail McCann.

Her name (EUGENIA) is incorrectly spelled 'Ugenia' on her tombstone. Uncle Ed had it made for her but he couldn't remember how to spell Eugenia! On other records, I have seen it also misspelled 'Eigenia.'
