Thomas Jefferson "Tom" Vail was my grandfather. He was the son of Jeremiah "Jerry" Vail, Jr. and Eugenia Coleman; grandson of William Coleman and 1. Sarah Ogden. He married 1. Roberta Elizabeth Graham on March 1, 1906 in Quitman, Jackson Parish, LA and had one child, Gladys Velma Vail (Burks), my mother. After Roberta died in childbirth on May 31, 1912 in Danville, LA, he married 2. Ecie Emeline Smith on Nov. 1, 1919. Children of Tom and Ecie: Nova Dee Vail (Ferguson), Thomas Hershel Vail, Billy Edward Vail and Winnie Mae Vail (Howe, Moore, Zeagler). He was a logger and a farmer.
