Hays -- James Staab, 73, Hays, died Monday, Sept. 30, 2002. Mr. Staab was born Sept. 9, 1929, in Catherine.

He was a farmer, a Hays businessman and delivered LP gas in the Hays area for many years.

Survivors include four sisters, Minnie Lang and Lydia Yunker, both of Hays, Charlotte Ludes of Salina and Alice Oaks of Wichita.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays, with military rites by Hays Veterans of Foreign Wars. A parish vigil will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 20th and Pine, Hays 67601.

Memorials may be made for Masses or to Cancer Council of Ellis County. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
