MRS. GURENA GUNHILD EVENSON

Mrs. Gurena Gunhild Evenson passed away very peacefully at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harry C. Lee, 404 W. Johnson St,. Albert Lea, at 4:10 p. m.. on Christmas day, after a long illness. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She was born Feb. 26, 1865, and raised on the farm by her parents, Ole and Marie Anderson at New Richland, in Waseca county until she was united in marriage to Bernt Evenson on July 7, 1883.

To this union were born, Mrs. Fred (Betsy) Olson, Albert Lea;.; Mrs. Louis (Emma) Knutson, Des Moines, Iowa; Benard, Ole, Albert Lea; Mrs. Hjalmer (Mable) Olson, Geneva; Arthur, Albert Lea; Mrs. Fred (Elsie) Dreier, Glenville. Her husband preceded her in death May 28, 1921, and one son, Melvin in 1933. Two children passed away in infancy. She leaves 31 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren and three

brothers and four sisters, Albert of Hartland; Olaves of Roseau; Severt of Canada; Mrs. Joseph Simonson of Graceton; Mrs. Olena Knutson and Mrs. Betsy Olsen both of Denver, Colorado and Mrs. Morris Hagen, of Washington.

Funeral services were at Sether Funeral Home in Albert Lea Saturday, Dec. 28, at 1:30 p.m. and at the first Lutheran Church at 2 p.m., with Rev. S. T. Sorenson officiating. Mrs. Thora Hedstrom sang "No Night There" and one Norwegian song.

The following acted as pallbearers: Clifford Evenson, Chester Olson, Harry Partington, Edward Clemenson, Ole Knutson. and Joe Einertson.

She was always a kind and loving mother and will be sadly missed by all of her children and friends. She took Holy Communion a few days before her death. Peace be with her memory. Interment was at the Lake Shore cemetery."

We sincerely wish to thank all those who were so kind to us during the illness and death of our dear beloved mother. We especially wish to thank Mrs. Thora Hedstrom for her beautiful songs, and Rev. S. T. Sorenson for his wonderful service and Mrs. Adam Krisp and Mrs. Carton Crecio for their kindness and help.
