"FORMER RESIDENT DIES AT GRINNELL"
"Arthur Evenson, 58, former resident of 313 High St., who has been living in
Grinnell, Iowa for several months, died Monday in Grinnell. He had a stroke in February
and has been in ill health since then.
He was born April 17, 1900 at New Richland, the son of Bernt and Gertie Evenson.
He lived there and in Albert Lea before going to Iowa and was employed by Morlea Dairy.
He was a member of the First Lutheran Church.
Married to Stella Hoverson Jan. 11, 1922 at Albert Lea, he is survived by her and
by two daughters: Mrs. Wayne (Shirley) Sweet, Owatonna and Mrs. Clayton (Marlys)
Cram, Grinnell. Five grandchildren survive.
He is also survived by two brothers, Ole and George Evenson, both of Albert Lea;
and two sisters, Mrs. Louis (Emma) Knutson, Des Moines and Mrs. Harry (Gina) Lee,
Albert Lea.
Funeral services will be held at the First Lutheran. Time of service is set for
Thursday at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Melford Knutson will officiate. Burial will be at
Lakewood Cemetery. Friends may call at Bonnerup and Son Funeral Home."
