Laura J. Dawson
Mrs. Laura Jane Dawson, 79, Route 1, Leighton, died Sunday at her residence after an extended illness.
She was a native of Lawrence County and had lived in Colbert County most of her life. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Mount Zion Baptist Church, Lawrence County, with the Rev. Robert McGee officiating. Burial will be in Hardshell Cemetery, Spry Funeral Home, Sheffield directing.
The family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service.
Survivors include two sons, Travis Dawson, Leighton, Harold Dawson, Leighton; sister, Mrs. Myrtle Brackin, Moulton; brother, Lonnie Jeffreys, Sheffield; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
Nephews will serve as bearers.
