FINAL RITES FOR OLIVER JEFFREYS TO BE HELD TODAY
Oliver Jeffreys, 86, died at his residence at Town Creek at midnight, Tuesday, after an illness of one year.

Mr. Jeffreys was a member of the Baptist Church. He was a native and lifelong resident of Lawrence County and a retired farmer and merchant.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Mt. Zion Church, with Rev. Walter Lee Hodges and Rev. Woody Biriley officiating. Burial will be in the Hardshell Cemetery.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Betty Jeffreys; five sons, Obie Jeffreys of Town Creek, Ernest Jeffreys of Leighton, Herman Jeffreys of Rockford, Ill., Aaron Jeffreys, and Lonnie Jeffreys, both of Sheffield; four daughters, Mrs. Lockie Dawson of Chicago, Ill., Mrs Lare Dawson, Mrs. Myrtle Brackin, and Miss Aggie Jeffreys, all of Town Creek; 30 grand children, 33 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

Active bearers will be Ernest, Bailey, Ceicl, Granvill, Melvin Jeffreys, and Travis Dawson.
