William Martin Barker, 73, retired farmer, died at 5:30pm, at his home, 208 North Clinton Street. He had lived in vicinity for the last 22 years. Suffering a serve case of smallpox last January, Mr. Barker was confined to his home for many weeks, not recovering until spring. His health generally undermined, Mr. Barker died of complications resulting form that illness.
Surviving him are the widow, three daughters, Mrs. Della Finney, this city, Mrs. Inez Rothfus, Gadsden, Ala., Mrs. Lizzie Sorrell, Frenchburg, Ky., two sons, A.C., and Henry Barker, 21 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, three sisters, and four brothers.
Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. W.H.Thompson, pator of the Church of Crist, at the church Friday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. R.C.Caudill of the Church of God, assisting. THe body will be sent to Lexington Saturday morning for burial in the Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
