Mrs. Alice Barker, 84, died at 10:35pm yesterday at the home of her son, Oren Barker, of Elk Creek Road, West Middletown. She had been in failing health for five weeks and suffered a stroke Sunday.
Mrs. Barker had made her home with her son for 41 years. She was a native of Kentucky and came here from Illinois. She was a member of the First Church of God.
Also surviving are four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Frank Young of Middletown; a brother, Odie Barker of Middletown.
Services will be held at 2pm Thursday at the J.R. Baker and Sons Funeral Home with Dr. R.C. Caudill officiating. Burial will be in Middletown Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9pm Wednesday and on Thursday morning.
