OBIT: DEATH STRIKES AS MAN SLEEPS IN PORCH CHAIR-

Heart Disease Fatal To Caleb Barker, of Webster Street:

Stricken with a fatal attack of heart disease while sitting in a rocking chair on his front porch, Caleb D. Barker, 69, of 112 Webster Street, was found dead Monday night by members of his family.

Suspecting nothing unnatural about Mr. Barker's resting on the porch following the evening meal, the family did not disturb him until about 8:30pm, when Mrs. Barker called to him into the house, she shock him, thinking he was asleep.

Mr. Barker had been in failing health for several years but had not been under the cared of a physician. His condition was thought to be no worse Monday when he ate heartily and made no complaint.

Removing here from Kentucky about 17 years ago, Mr. Barker had been employed at various kinds of labor until about two years ago.

He is survived by the widow, two daughters, Mrs. Charles Tucker and Mrs. Leona Adkins; two sons, John F. Barker of Middletown, and Clay Barker of Orient, OH.; one sister, Miss. Alice Barker, two brothers, Jack and Obie Barker, of Middletown, and several grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held Thursday at 2pm at the residence. Adjutant Ernest Newton of the Salvation Army will officiate. Burial will be made in Middletown Cemetery,
