John Bristow was the husband of Hazel Fern Caldwell. They were united in marriage on July 9, 1910. They had 13 children together.

John Bristow, Sr., age 87, of Glen Park, passed away Monday, October 10, 1977. Member of the Grace Baptist Church. Retired employee of U. S. Steel, Gary Works, belonging to the United Steelworkers of America, Local 1014.
Survivors: 10 children; Mrs. Jack (Mildred) Anstey of Leroy, IN., Mrs. Mike (Ruth) Daniels of Crown Point, Mrs. Lillian L. Harvey of Gary, Mrs. Roy (Wanita) Tomlinson of Merrillville, Mrs. David (Carrie Etta) Savage of Hobart, John (Justine) Bristow, Mrs. Clifford (Geraldine) Holler of Griffith, Ralph (Sue) Bristow of Gary, Mrs. Ethmer (Florence) Rhoades at Royal Center, IN., Mrs. Gary (Gloria) Yakim of Hobart; 23 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; 1 brother, Seward Bristow of Tipton, IN.
Funeral services, Thursday, October 13, 1977 at 1 p.m. at The Grace Baptist Church, 3935 Cleveland Street, Gary. Pastor Calvin E. Rumley officiating. Burial in Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. Friends may call at Geisen Funeral Home, Glen Park from 12 noon - 9 p.m. Wednesday and anytime prior to funeral services on Thursday. Mr. Bristow will be removed from Geisen Funeral Home, Glen Park to the Church at 11:30 a.m. Thursday. In memory of Mr. Bristow, contributions may be made to the Grace Baptist Church.
