The depot was later moved to Kempton, Indiana, a few miles away, and the old town of Berlin just faded away...Later, she became the wife of Noah Lincoln Bristow. They were married in Clinton County, Indiana, on January 6, 1881. They were the parents of 13 children with four of those children dying in infancy...

Mother of Seward Bristow Died At Gary Sunday.

Seward Bristow of Kentucky avenue was called to Gary Sunday evening by the death of his mother, Mrs. Sarah Etta (Shockley) Bristow, age 71, which occurred at her home there. Mrs. Bristow had been in failing health for some time, and death was attributed to infirmities incident to her advanced years.
Mrs. Bristow was born and reared in this county being the last of six children of Daniel B. and Jemima (McIntire) Shockley. The others are: Mrs. Lusetta Evans of Erie, Pennsylvania, Dan Bristow and Mrs. Iva McAlister of Spencer, John Bristow, Mrs. Gladys Bogan and Mrs. Zora Daniels, all of Gary, the latter residing with the mother, Mrs. Ethel Critchfield of Frankfort, and Mary Woods of Kempton.
Mrs. Bristow was a devout member of the Christian Science church and a splendid wife, mother and neighbor who was beloved by all who knew her.
Funeral services and burial will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Gary, and the son, Seward Bristow of this city will remain until after the services. His wife will go to Gary Tuesday morning and return home with him.
