Alexander Jones, 73, died Sunday afternoon at 2:45 o'clock in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Wilson, 128 South Fourth Street.
Mr. Jones has been ill for eight weeks and his death resulted from blood poison and other complications, the poisoning having developed from a scratch on the back of the hand.
The deceased was born Feb. 23, 1856 in Licking County, the son of Robert Jones. His wife, Mrs. Martha Jones died in 1925 and two other children preceded them in death, Sidney Jones, whose death occurred in Nov. 1924 and Nellie Jones, who died in 1902. Three daughters survive: Mrs. Frank Wilson, Mrs. Dora Swick and Mrs. John Chester, all of this city. He also leaves four grandchildren, one brother, Charles Jones of Akron IN, and one sister, Mrs. Harriet Hampshire of St. Louisville.
Mr. Jones was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge of Hanover.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Church of God in Sixth Street, Rev. Allen Wilson will conduct the services and burial will be made in Cedar Hill cemetery. Funeral directors, Criss Brothers.
