TWO KILLED IN QUARRY
Young Men Were Struck and Crushed by a Falling Derrick

Levi Hendershot, 25 years old, and Angelo Mageri, an Italian, about 27 years of age, were killed this morning at the Cleveland Slate Quarry (formerly the Albion), at Pen Argyl. The unfortunate men were employed at the quarry and were in the bottom of the deep hole when a heavy derrick pole, released by the snapping of a rope, fell and struck them.
Hendershot's skull was fractured and one of his legs and one of his arms were broken. He died while preparations were being made to bring him to Easton Hospital. His remains were removed to Wind Gap, where he resided, and where he leaves a widow and an adopted daughter.
Mageri died on the quarry bank. One of his sides was crushed in. The Italian was married and leaves a family at Winsborotown, where he resided.
Coroner Schleicher was notified and went to Pen Argyl this afternoon to investigate the accident.
