Frank's family left North Carolina in the 1890's heading for Louisiana.

On 24 March 1906, he and Maggie Ola Bullock united in marriage in Bienville Parish, Louisiana. Between 1908 and 1936, they had 15 children and raised a grandson from birth (due to their 16 year old daughter dying following childbirth).

(For me, Colette, there is nothing better than to listen to the stories told by these children of their days growing up in the woods!)

He was employed at sawmills in Jamestown, Bienville Parish, and Benton, Bossier Parish, before moving to Sarepta/Springhill, Webster Parish. In about 1956 or so, he suffered a stroke which left him bedridden for about the next 8 years. His cause of death was uremia with contributory causes listed as CVA with paralysis.

Grandson he raised from birth: Leo Riley "Sonny" Staggs
