Nolan W. Basinger Dies Early Saturday

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday for Nolan Willis Basinger, 62, of Springhill. Mr. Basinger died Saturday morning at the North Claiborne Hospital in Haynesville after a lengthy illness.

Services were conducted at the Springhill United Pentecostal Church by the Rev. Gerald D. Trammell. Burial was in the Springhill Cemetery under the direction of the Bailey Mortuary.

Mr. Basinger, a native of Jamestown was a millwright at International Paper Co.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Evie Burrell Basinger; two daughters, Mrs. Marilyn Cole of Silsbee, Tex., and Mrs. Rita Faye Flores of Springhill; four sisters, Mrs. Florence Morgan of Minden, Mrs. Margie Burks of Cotton Valley, Mrs. Joyce Boyett of Bossier City and Mrs. Carolyn Palmer of Sarepta; seven brothers, John D. Basinger and Murphie Basinger both of Cotton Valley, Billy Basinger and Leo Staggs both of Houston, Tex., James Frank Basinger, Jr., of Smackover, Ark., Eugene Basinger of Malvern, Ark., and Carl Bassinger of Sarepta and four grandchildren.
