Buford Brackin, 83, died Saturday, January 8, 1994 at Helen Keller Hospital, Sheffield.

He was a member of Donald Baptist Church, Town Creek; a lifelong resident of Lawrence County where he was born May 14, 1910 and a retired Baptist minister and farmer.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Donald Baptist Church with Ralton McCarly, Perry Brackin and Carlos Sibley officiating. Burial will be in Jeffreys Cemetery at Town Creek, Lawrence Funeral home, Moulton, directing.

The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife Earline Jeffreys Brackin, Town Creek; sons, Buddy Brackin, Wayne Brackin, both of Town creek; daughters Baarbara Stewart, Decatur, Vona Elkins, Reba Sibley, both of Mount Hope; brothers Otho Brackin, Hearld Brackin, both of Town Creek; sisters, Evilee Landsdell, Udell Berryman, both of Town Creek; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the church.

Bearers will be Jeff Sibley, Andy Elkins, Marty Stewart, Scotty Brackin, Barry Brackin and Jackie Norton.
