Old Long/Pate Cemetery, However it may
be called something else today. It's
located on a private farm, near Sevierville.
Martha Long was the daughter of Maples
Long and Mahala 'Atchley' Long. Her
grandparents were Rev. George W. Long 1
and Nancy Elizabeth 'Maples' Long. Also
Benjamin Atchley and Martha 'Chambers' Atchley.
She was born in Sevier Co., Tn. Her
parents moved to Arkansas in 1857.
She was one in 15 children of Maples
and Mahala. Martha was their second
daughter, fourth child.
Research is being done at this time
to find the location of Martha's burial.
More than likely, she is buried in the
very old Long/Pate Cemetery, Sevier Co.,
Tennessee where some of the family are
buried.
A distant family member has recently
visited this cemetery and has found
one very old stone, marked Long. It's
broken into and the other part is not
readable. One stone has an Ma and it's
broken and another piece was found w/it
and it had Long.
