"Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Blanks Neal,75, will be held Wednesday afternoon at three o'clock in the Mount Olive Baptist Church with Rev. C.V. Everage officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Olive cemetery under the direction of Plummer-Smith. Her death occurred Saturday at her home on Blanks street. She was a native of Kerr County, and the daughter of the late Isaiah and Lydia Blanks.Her father worked for Captain Schreiner for more than 50 years and her grandfather, the late Theodore Blanks, came to Kerr County as a slave before the Civil War. The Blanks farm near Center Point is the only farm in the county to be owned by negroes. She was a member of the Mount Olive Church and the Eastern Star. She is survived by four sons, Ellis Warren of Midland; Louis Neal of Kerrville and Roy F. Neal and Merrill F. Neal, both of Aspen, Colorado. A sister, Mrs. Zula Gillian, and a brother, Louis A. Blanks, both of Kerrville."
