Former Kenesaw resident, Mary L. Wittwer, 77, died Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings. Funeral services were Saturday, June 14, 2008 at the United Methodist Church in Kenesaw with Pastor Trudy Hanke officiating. Burial was in the Kenesaw Cemetery.

Mary was born November 28, 1930 to Bohumil and Elizabeth (Strobl) Sidlo in Red Cloud. She graduated from Red Cloud High School. She married George H. Wittwer January 10, 1956 in Hastings. They lived in Lebanon, Kan., Hastings and Kenesaw. Her husband passed away in 1998, and she moved to the Kensington in Hastings in 2002, and later to Perkins. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Senior Center in Kenesaw.

Survivors include, her children: Garry (Lori) Wittwer of Heartwell, George Wittwer of Hastings, Goldie (Rick) Dornhoff of Heartwell and Roxine (Keith) Worlein of Hastings; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one brother, Duaine Sidlo of Red Cloud.

Her parents, a sister, Rosie Haller and four brothers, Emil, Vencil, Bohumil Jr., and Al Sidlo, preceded her in death.
