A lifelong resident of Webster County, Rose attended the Amboy school and in 1934, the famly moved to Red Cloud where she graduated with the Class of 1937. She was employed at the Red Cloud theatre, then as a secretary for attorney Bill Letson at the Webster County Courthouse. On April 23, 1942, she married Joseph William Haller at St. Anne's Church in Campbell. They lived at Bladen and later at Cowles. In 1950, the family moved to a farm near Guide Rock, where they resided until 1961, when they moved to a farm south of Red Cloud. In 1965, they purchased their home in Red Cloud. Being a housewife and raising five children was a job in itself. Rose sewed all of the clothes for her family, including coats.
