Johner Nathaniel McCoy, Virgil oil field operator, died at his home at 8:30 o'clock Friday morning, August 19.
Mr. McCoy was born in Brice, Mo., September 18, 1900, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hugh R. McCoy. He married Edith Bohard at Eureka, Feb. 10, 1926. He is survived by his wife, of the home; six daughters, Mrs. Gladys Tatman; Mrs. Opal Hoyt, of Emporia; Mrs. Dorothy Guzman, of Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Winnie Clark, of Madison; Mrs. Frances Smith, who lives in South Carolina; Alice Ann McCoy, of the home; two sons, Raymond McCoy with the armed forces in North Africa; Daniel McCoy, of the home; four sisters, Mrs. Annie Tannahill, Wichita; Mrs. Emily Phillips, Gridley; Mrs. Carrie Alsop, Independence, Kansas; Mrs. Eva Phillips, Hamilton; two brothers, Vaughn McCoy, Wichita; Charles McCoy, Lebanon, Missouri.
Funeral service was held at the United Brethren Church, Virgil, Tuesday, August 23, at 2:00 p.m. Interment was in the Greenwood Cemetery.
