Gaylord died at age 5 of complications from measles. He & several siblings had measles in about November. Gaylord had just started school for six weeks and then was never able to return. Sister Alvina said, "He was always so interested in us. It was almost holy acceptance how he could be in so much back pain and be as angelic with us as he was."
