James Clough Wood, of Sturkie, Arkansas, son of the late Monroe and Elizabeth Rosier Wood, was born May 17, 1904, in Fulton County, Arkansas. He departed this life Monday morning, December 21, 1987, at the Ozark Medical Center, West Plains, Missouri, at the age of 83 years, 7 months and 4 days.
Clough was united in marriage to Ruth Brown at Hutchinson, Kansas, on September 21, 1931 and to this union five children were born.
Clough spent his working years as a farmer and was a school bus driver for the Salem School System for many years.
Mr. Wood leaves to mourn his passing; wife, Ruth of the home; three sons; Roy Wood, Eldon, Missouri; Owen Wood, Olathe, Kansas; James Wood, Sturkie, Arkansas; two daughters; Sophia Mae Norman, Sturkie, Arkansas; Dorothy Turrell, Kansas City, Missouri; twelve grandchildren, twenty eight great-grandchildren; three sisters; Bertha Wood, Salem, Arkansas; Pearl Smith, Thayer, Missouri; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers; Roy, Clyde, Oral A and Rufus, and sister, Annice Reavis.
