Sarah Miller Is Taken by Death.
Sarah Alvira Miller, 85, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George W. Brown, in Paradise Wednesday afternoon.
Mrs. Miller was born in Sacramento, but moved to Elder Creek, Tehema [sic] County, when she was three months old, being the first white baby ever seen in that community. In 1878 she was married to John C. Miller and they lived in that community until 1893 when they moved to Shasta County. After a few years they moved with their family to Butte County. For the past six years Mrs. Miller has lived in Paradise, her husband having preceded her in death by 25 years. She has been in failing health for several years. She is a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Paradise.
Surviving are eight children, Mrs. Nellie Gordon and Mrs. Geo. W. Brown of Paradise, Mrs. Cassie Merrithew of Durham, Mr.s [sic] Dora Levis [sic], Mrs. Minerva Hathaway, Mrs. Edna McCrosky and A.A. Miller of Chico and John H. Miller of Modesto; 29 grandchildren and 35 great grand-children also survive.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Nugent-Huddleston Funeral Chapel with Elders S.S. Rutan of Paradise and Don E. Duncan of Chico officiating. Interment will be in the family plot of the Dayton cemetery."

Funeral services for Sarah Miller, who died in Paradise Wednesday afternoon, will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Nugent-Huddleston Funeral Chapel with Elders S.S. Rutan and Don Duncan of the Seventh Day Adventist Church officiating.
Interment will be in the family plot of the Dayton Cemetery."
