Feted At Dinner Party.
The home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Edwards, of Eureka, was the scene of a happy gathering when friends and relatives met to honor Mrs. Frances Rice on her eighty-ninth birthday anniversary. Humorous readings, singing by the group and reminiscences of the past, helped to make the day one long to bs remembered by those who had the privilege of attending.
The attractive birthday cake with its many candles and other decorations was beautiful and gave an added touch to the happy occasion, which will leave with the mother, many pleasant memories.
The only children present were Chas. Rice, of Covelo, and the hostess, Mrs. Ethel Edwards, Mrs. Ella Henderson, of Covelo, a daughter, was unable to attend. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Guy Wilson of Eureka; grandson, Leonard Henderson, wife and two small daughters, of Blocksburg; great-granddaughter, Sonja Powers and Mrs. Emma Rice, of Covelo; and the honoree, Mrs. Frances Rice, who is well known In Covelo, having spent many summers here.
