Violet Astle Dies At Logan, Utah, Services Saturday
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday Aug 3 at 12 noon in the Afton First Ward Chapel under the direction of the First Ward Bishopric for Miss Violet Astle, 79, longtime Afton resident who died abut 2:20 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at a rest home in Logan, Utah.
Mis Astle lived alone in her home on Third avenue for many years, having never married. Her health was fairly good until about two years ago,when she began to suffer from illness, and several months ago she went to Logan to a rest home.
Miss Astle was born Dec 17, 1883 at Montpelier, Idaho and came to Afton when a little girl and lived here ever since until going to Logan. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints having taught in many of the auxiliaries of her ward and served in many positions. She took care of the sacrament trays for over 40 years in the Afton North and Afton First Wards.
