SLIGO - Ora Emma Barto, 104, of Sligo RD 2, died Thursday, December 24, 1987, in Clarview Rest Home, Piney Township. Born November 15, 1883, in Piney Township, she was a daughter of James and Lavina (Over) Dixon. She married Oren E. Barto on August 2, 1905. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Barto was a member of the MT. Zion Lutheran Church, Callensburg, the Rebekah Lodge and Murphy Grange.
She is survived by two sons, John Barto of Sligo and Richard Barto of Phoenix, Ariz; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Margaret) Wensel of Sligo RD 1 and Mrs. Alfred (Jane) Bartley of Sligo RD 2; nine grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchilden. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, five sisters, a grandson, Jack Barto, and a great-grandson, Joseph Devey.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Cleo A. Hawk Funeral Home. Terry L. Beamer, director, Sligo, with the Rev. Lewis R. Fox, retired pastor of the MT. Zion Church, officiating. Interment was in the MT. Zion Cemetery.
