Mrs. Bessie Mae Arner, 91, died at 1;45 am Tuesday in her home on Sixth
Avenue in Clarion. Born in Piney Township, Clarion County, in September 11,
1865, she was the daughter of the late James A. and Lavina Over Dixon. She
was married on April 26, 1887, to J. Emery Arner who preceded her in death
in 1934. Mrs. Arner was a member of the First Methodist Church of Clarion,
the WSCS and the Truth Seeks Bible Class of that church and was a charter
member of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter No. 267 of Clarion. Mrs. Arner
was the mother of Burgess J. J. Arner of Clarion. Surviving are four
daughters, Mrs. Blanche Moore and Mrs. Margaret Lewis of Clarion, Mrs. Ruth
Linn of Mt. Lebanon and Mrs. Wilma J. Mortland of Modesto, Calif., and one
son, James J. Arner of Clarion. Two sisters, Mrs. Jane Faloon of Clarion and
Mrs. O. E. Barto of Sligo RD, Two brothers, Be. E. Dixon of Sligo RD and G.
E. Dixon of Sharon, 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren also
survive. The body was removed to the Goble Funeral Home in Clarion.
