Frances Jane Bartley, 81, of Huckleberry Ridge, Sligo, in the Myersdale area, died suddenly of
natural causes at 9:37 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, in the Clarion Hospital.

Born May 13, 1919, in Piney Township, Clarion County, she was a daughter of Orrin E. and Ora Emma Dixon Bartoe.

She was a graduate of Sligo High School.

Mrs. Bartley had been employed at Owens Illinois Glass Containers of Clarion and at A.S.R. of
Shippenville.

She was married in New York Nov. 20, 1937, to Alfred R. Bartley, who died May 28, 1970.

Mrs. Bartley and her husband operated a store for 10 years in Myersdale near Sligo.

She was an active member of Monroe Chapel United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Bartley was a member of Murphy Grange and was secretary of the Pomona Grange.

She was a member and past no ble grand of Lady Priscilla Re bekah Lodge No. 305 of Sligo.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth A. (Barbara J.) Blair of Brookville RD 1 and Mrs. Gary L.(Mary Emma) Hooks of Middletown, R.I.; eight grandchildren, Mrs. Joseph (Karen) Snyder of Indiana,Pa., Rick Blair and Mrs. Richard (Cathy) Hagen, both of DuBois, David Hooks and his wife, Leah, of Spartanburg, S.C., Mrs. Don (Tina) DuBreuil, Mrs. Richard (Leanne) Rodrigues and Mrs. Ned (Jonelle)Draper, all of Middletown, R.I., and Mrs. Joel (Rachel) Richards of Newport, R.I.; and 16 great-grandchildren.
