Nellie Gretchen Bahr was born to Peter and Ernestine Bahr at Pine Camp NE, Feb. 12, 1984, the 9th of 14 children and died Feb. 9, 1981, at the Atkinson Hospital.
She taught school before and after her marriage to Charles J. Simons on June 15, 1921, at Valentine NE and to them two children were born.
They lived on a farm near Norden until their retirement in 1961. They lived at Long Pine until his death in 1971. She moved to Parkside Manor at Stuart in 1974. In spite of being bedfast the past three years she was always in good spirits.
Survivors are a son, Ralph, Stuart; daughter, Mr. J. D. (Hilda) Edgar, Cuero TX; sister, Alta Bahr, Bassett, 6 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren, 12 great grand-children and other relatives.
Services were held at St. Pius X Church in Ainsworth Feb. 12 with Fathers James Janovec and Francis Kubart officiating. Music was provided by Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Fling. Pallbearers were Jim Dutton, Mary Johnson, Ralph G. Simons, Lawrence Dutton, mark Simons and Eva Marie Weickum. Interment was in Grandview Cemetery, Long Pine.

Funeral services will be held at St. Pius Catholic Church in Ainsworth, 10:30 Thursday morning for Mrs. Nellie Simons, Stuart, a former long time resident of the Norden community. Among survivors are a son an daughter.
