Mr. Herbert Dene Galbreath, age 68, Vidalia, died Sunday, February 7, 1999 at his residence, after a sudden illness.

The native of Montgomery County was an educator in the public school system for many years in many areas, returning to Vidalia in 1971. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a Baptist by faith.

Survivors include two sons, Dodd Galbreath, Carthage, Tennessee and Herbert Dean Galbreath, Jr., Franklin, Tennessee; one daughter, May Melyn Galbreath, Virginia Beach, Virginia; three brothers, John H. Galbreath and William T. Galbreath, both of Sharpe Spur Community and Daniel Webster Galbreath, Boron, California; one sister, Wilma G. Jones, Sharpe Spur Community; one grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 9, 1999 at 1:00 p.m. in the New Corinth Baptist Church, with Mr. G.P. Tippett officiating. Interment followed in the Galbreath Cemetery. Ronnie L. Stewart and Son Funeral Service of Vidalia was in charge of arrangements.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Educational Charity of your choice.
