Mr. Dink Galbreath was a native of Montgomery County and had resided in Toombs County for most of his life. He was a retired carpenter and a member of the New Corinth Baptist Church.
Mr. Galbreath is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mary June Jordan, Vidalia, and Mrs. Shirley A. Clifton, Alston; three sons, Emmett F. Galbreath, Scott, Ga., Bennie H. Galbreath, Apopka, Florida and Carlton H. Galbreath, Vidalia; four brothers, Daniel W. Galbreath, North Edwards, California, John Hilton Galbreath and William T. Galbreath, both of Ailey, Herbert Galbreath, Mt. Vernon; one sister, Mrs. Wilma Neal Jones, Ailey; ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, five great great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Mr. Joel Jordan was a native of Union County, North Carolina, had resided in Ashton, Rhode Island, for most of his life, moving to Toombs County in 1990. He was a retired machinist from the Owens-Corning Fiberglass Company; and he was a member of the New Corinth Baptist Church.
Mr. Jordan is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary June Jordan, Vidalia; one stepson, Johnny Hill Morris, Jr., Vidalia; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Mary Jane Washington, Hephzibah, Georgia, Ms. Rose Marie Mitchum, Vidalia, and Mrs. Angela Ann Keairns, Lyons; five step-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Double funeral services for both Mr. Galbreath and Mr. Jordan were held Wednesday afternoon, November 2, at 2 o'clock from the Ronnie L. Stewart Funeral Service Chapel of Vidalia with Rev. Bob Corley officiating, assisted by Rev. Robert Conner. Interment followed in the Galbreath Cemetery.
Active pallbearers for Mr. Galbreath were Daryl Corley, Ike Galbreath, Ronald Galbreath, Cadle McEachin, Tim Galbreath, and Mike Hilbert.
Active pallbearers for Mr. Jordan were John Jordan, Christopher Jordan, John Oglesby, David Galbreath, G.P. Tippett, and Duane Tomlin.
Honorary pallbearers for both Mr. Galbreath and Mr. Jordan were Everette Booth, Doc McDonald, Paul Downie, and Talmadge Newsome, Ronnie L. Stewart Funeral Home of Vidalia was in charge of funeral arrangements.
