Mrs. Myrtle Lou Burkhardt Purvis

Mrs. Myrtle Lou Burkhardt Purvis, age 91, of Milton, Kentucky, Myrtle entered this life on September 5, 1925 in Trimble County, Kentucky. She was the loving daughter of the late James Frederick and Goldie Brown Burkhardt. She resided nearly all of her life in Trimble County and graduated high school at the one room school in Burkhardt Bottoms. In 1943 she was united in marriage to Morris Purvis in Bedford, Kentucky. This happy union of 53 years was blessed with two sons, Morris Daniel and James Walker. Early in life she worked for the G.C. Murphy Five and Dime Store in downtown Madison. Myrtle was a devoted homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was of the Pentecostal faith and had been a member of the Pilgrim Holiness Church, Milton Wesleyan Church, and the Apostolic Pentecostal Church of the Living God. Myrtle enjoyed flowers, reading her Bible, preparing food for others, her church work and being with her grandchildren. Myrtle died on Friday, June 2, 2017, at 10:24 p.m. at the Water's of Clifty Falls in Madison, Indiana.

A LOVING FAMILY
Myrtle will be missed by her loving sons, Morris Daniel Purvis and his wife, Carolyn "Kackie" of Milton, Kentucky, James Walker Purvis and his companion, Linda Phillips of Madison, Indiana; her grandchildren, Tracy, Darren Scott, Brandy, Jamie, Trenton, Dwain, Darrin and Marsha; several great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; her brothers, William Burkhardt and his wife, Mabel of Carrollton, Kentucky, Larry Burkhardt and his wife, Barbara of Milton, Kentucky, David Burkhardt and his wife, Wanda of Madison, Indiana; her sister, Delma Richmond of Madison, Indiana; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, James Frederick Burkhardt, died November 13, 1992, her mother, Goldie Gill Brown Burkhardt, died April 19, 1995, her great grandchild, Kelly Johnson, 4-great great grandchildren, her brothers, Phillip Darrell, died 2003, Forrest Gayle, died 2007, Norman Douglas, died 2011 and James Dale, died 1931, her sisters, Neola Doris Burkhardt, died 1941 and Evelyn June Mahoney, died 2009; and her beloved husband of 53 years, Morris Paul Purvis, died September 5, 1996 .

FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at 1:00 p.m., by Rev. Robert Leach at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Moffett Cemetery in Milton, Kentucky.

Friends may call Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive Madison, Indiana.
