Mrs. Ethel Linda Brown Cole, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, following an extended illness. While a resident at Signature Health and Rehabilitation the staff there thought a great deal of her and treated her with kindness and care. Linda was born in Brandenburg, Kentucky and a lifelong resident of the Bluegrass State, a state that she truly loved. She lived most of her life as a homemaker and had the heart of a volunteer. Linda was a lifelong member of Bethel United Methodist Church, where she looked forward to homecoming every year and coming back to visit.

Linda was preceded in death by her mother and father George and Roxie Mae Brown; her sister Norma Helen Meeks; and her son Sergeant First Class William Barry Cole. She is survived by her brother Robert L (Julia Rhea) Brown; her sons, Bruce ( Stephanie) Cole, Baye (Sabrina) Cole, Gene (Rebecca) Cole, Bryan Cole, Wesley Miller; and her daughter-in-law, Lee Anne Cole; her grandchildren, Reagan and Madison Cole, Jennifer and Meredith Cole, Kennedy Cole Brennan Justin Winkler (Miller), Tony and Lacey Shroader. Linda considered her nieces and nephews, Norma Lee Meeks, Gary Meeks (Anita), Taylor (Tonya) Meeks, and David Lloyd Brown as if they were her sons and daughters. Linda is also survived by her great nieces and nephews, Travis and Michael Meeks, Adam Yarberry, and Roxanne Hart Chance; and her cousin, Angie Harrington.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 31, 2020, at the Bethel United Methodist Church, with Rev. Sylvia Baker-Norem and Brother Gary Benham officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Hager Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, and at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of service on Saturday.
