The youngest daughter of John and Jane (Robson) Denning. Raised by her father John Denning and the stepmother Rebecca Ann (Little) Denning. She was born in England and came to United States with her mother Jane and her other siblings Hannah, Peter, Joseph in 1852. She married Brown Ferrell in 1865 in the Montana Territories.
Elizabeth and Brown Ferrell had ten children and were one of Montana highly respected pioneer family's.

Pioneer Matron, 92, Dies In California

Mrs. Brown Ferrell Came to Alder Gulch in 1864

Pony, Montana Oct 20, -- Mrs. Brown Ferrell, age 92 years, well known and beloved former resident of Pony, died Wednesday, Oct 14, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred Smith at Livermore, Calif.

Mrs. Ferrell was born in London, England July 1844, and came to Alder gulch in 1864. Where she was married to Brown Ferrell in 1869. To this union was born ten children eight of whom survive her, including Mrs. John Flanagan of Modesto, Calf. Mrs. Neil McCauley of Harrison, Mrs. W. H. Brennan and Mrs. William Flaherty of Missoula, Mrs. Fred Smith of Livermore, Calif., Bill Ferrell of Portland, Ore., and Clarence Ferrell of Harrison. Several grandchildren and one great grandchild, Colleen Box, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Box of Pony, Montana, also survive her.

After the death of her husband in 1924. Mrs. Ferrell made her home with her daughter. Mrs. Smith, moving her to California nine years ago, where she has since made her home.

The body was brought Friday to the home of her son and daughter-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ferrell accompanied from California by Mrs. Smith.

Her Funeral was held Saturday morning at her son's home at Harrison, with the Rev. Father John Harrington of Whitehall celebrating mass. Charles Drackert and Ed Smith of Pony, Fred Carmin Sr., of Harrison, James Brennan of Missoula. Burial was made in the family plot at Valley View Cemetery.
