Mrs. Daisy Austin, 76, of Franklin RD 3, died in Venango Manor Sunday following an extended illness. She was born in Franklin December 13, 1897, daughter of George and Effie Dilley Beers.

She spent most of her life in Franklin, was a member of the United Brethren in Christ Church, and the Home Department there. She worked for the News-Herald as a custodian for 10 years.

She married Robert E. Austin February 28, 1913, and he died in 1963.

Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. A. C. McCandless, mrs. Wilbert (Dorothy) Beebe, Jane Austin, and Mrs. Paul (Glorann) Shoffstall of Franklin, Mrs. James (Lillian) Scannell of Meadville, and Mrs. Maude Powers of Canada; a son, Lambert Austin of Franklin; four sisters, Mrs. Mabel Blair and Minnie Beers of Franklin, Mrs. Hazel O'Brien of Riverside, CA, and Mrs. David (Gertrude) Reagle of Grove City; a brother, Clinton Beers of Franklin; 18 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Deceased are two sons, Lawrence and Robert E. Jr.; two daughters, Edith Rhodes and Helen Auston; a sister, Gladys Solinger; and two brothers, Manuel and Lewis.
