June Louise Austin, 86, formerly of 1220 Chestnut St., Franklin, passed away at 3:35 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14, 2017, at The Caring Place in Franklin. Born April 13, 1931, in Franklin, she was the daughter of Robert Earl and Daisy May Beers Austin.

In her younger years, she worked in the laundry and cleaning industry. She loved the senior center, playing bingo, and being with her family and church. She was a one-time member of the Creekside Center in Oil City and attended the Salvation Army. She was a beloved mother who will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Roxann Rankin, and husband, William, of Franklin; her sons, John Lee Austin and wife, Maureen, of Langhorn and Richard Earl Austin and wife, Doris, of Enterprise, Alabama; nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, a sister, Gloria Shoffstall of Franklin and several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Lillian Austin, three brothers, and five sisters.

Her family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful hospice staff of the VNA Hospice and all the staff at the Caring Place for taking such wonderful care of their mother.

Service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Gardinier Funeral Home, 1315 Chestnut St., Franklin, with Rev. Gary Atkinson, pastor of the Grace United Methodist Church in Rocky Grove, officiating. Interment will be at the Franklin Cemetery.
