Daughter of Robert E. and Daisy Beers Austin, she was blind, mentally retarded and lived at Polk State School and Hospital, Polk, PA, died there of acute coronary occlusion, per death certificate 052601-62, whose informant was M. M. Kaplan, MD, of the school. Buried May 28 1962.

Miss Helen Jean Austin, 35, of Polk State School, died Friday at 8:10 pm. She was born in Sugarcreek Township Feb. 17, 1927, daughter of Robert E. and Daisy Beers Austin.

She lived in Polk State School since 1939.

Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Daisy Austin, 642 Atlantic Avenue; a brother, Lambert of Franklin; five sisters, Mrs. Albert (Lucille) McCandless of Rocky Grove, Mrs. Wilbur (Dorothy) Beebe of Franklin, Mrs. James (Lillian) Scannell of Franklin, Miss June Austin and Miss Gloria Ann Austin at home; Deceased are two brothers, Lawrence and Robert; a sister, Mrs. Edith Rhoades (1959) of Oil City.

Services will be at 2 pm Monday with Rev. Claire J. Tucker, pastor of Atlantic Avenue United Brethren Church, officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Cmeetery.
