Robert E. Austin, 62, 1314 Chestnut Street, died in Franklin Hospital where he'd been five days. He was born April 2, 1896, in Cooperstown, son of George and Ella Collins Austin.
For a number of years he worked as a janitor at the News-Herald Building. He had been retired for some time. He attended the Atlantic Avenue United Brethren Church,
Surviving are his wife, Daisy Beers Austin; children, Lawrence Austin, Oil City, Mrs. Albert (Lucille) McCandless, Rocky Grove, Lambert Austin, Mrs. Wilbert (Dorothy) Beebe, Mrs. James (Lillian) Scannell, Franklin, Mrs. James (Edith) Rhoads, Oil City, Helen Austin, Polk, June and Gloria Ann Austin at home; 20 grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Walker (Mary) Garrard, Windham, OH. Deceased is a son, Robert Jr.
Services will be at Burger Funeral Home at 1 pm Wednesday with Rev. Paul Zook, his pastor, and Rev. Robert Rossman of Titusville officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery.
