Kate Rigsby Baldwin, 74, of Jonesborough, went home to be with the Lord on May, 24, 2008.

Born in Gray, TN, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Myrtle Caldwell Rigsby. She was of the Baptist faith. Known for her "green thumb" she had a passion for flower gardening.

She also enjoyed tropical fish, birds and listening to gospel music, especially the Gaither's. Her children and grandchildren were her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence R. Baldwin on March 18, 2005; four sisters and two brothers.

She is survived by her daughter, Diana Sturgill and husband David of Gray; two sons: Larry Baldwin of Jonesborough and David Baldwin and wife Mary of Jonesborough; five sisters: Ruby Parsons of Kingsport, Mabel Garst of Blountville, Beulah Briggs of Erwin, Irene Ford of Gray and Carrie Coggins of Jonesborough; two brothers: Bill Rigsby of Colonial Heights and Charles Rigsby of Gray; grandchildren: E2 Josh Sturgill, USN, Chris Sturgill, Natasha Baldwin, Steven Baldwin, Andrew Baldwin and Richard Baldwin; and several nieces and nephews.

A committal service will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM in Washington County Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Pastor David Salley officiating.

Arrangements for the Baldwin family are in the care of Tetrick Funeral Services, 3001 Peoples St., Johnson City, TN 37604.
