Beulah Briggs, 81, of Unicoi, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. A native of Gray, she is the daughter of the late Charlie and Myrtle Rigsby. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Fred "Buddy" Briggs. Beulah retired from Unicoi Elementary school after 33 years where she enjoyed working with children. She loved spending time with her family, especially her great-granddaughter, Harper, who was the apple of her eye. She enjoyed babysitting, gardening, plants and flowers of every kind, but especially orchids, and shopping. Beulah loved children and was very giving and always thoughtful of others. She touched the lives of so many people with her loving kindness. Those left to cherish her memory include: daughters, Debby Correll and husband Randy, Donna Sluder and husband Wade; grandchildren, Payge Barnett Weaver and husband Ike, and Brooke Barnett; one great-granddaughter, Harper Weaver; A very special sister, Mable Garst and her sons Terry and Sammy; brother, Roy Rigsby; and sisters, Irene Ford and Carrie Coggins; special nieces, Teresa and Keeli Parkey, and Kari Humston and her children Callie Humston and Conner Humston; very special friends, Penny Hoilman, Kay McInturff, Becky Wilson, Jenny Rice, and Margaret Richardson; and two very special little girls, Kaleigh and Alysa Wilson who she loved like grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the medical-surgical nurses and staff at Franklin Woods Community Hospital, and to Amedisys Hospice for all the wonderful care they provided to her during this difficult time. A committal service will be held at Roselawn Memory Gardens, Johnson City, on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 12:00 PM with Jason Myers officiating.
