A native of Gray, TN, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Myrtle Rigsby. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Sam Garst, and several brothers and sisters.
Mable retired from TPI Corp. after 20 years. She was a faithful member of Knob Creek Church of the Brethren. She loved her church and served as the church secretary and greeter for many years. She loved to sing and sang in a ladies church quartet.
She loved spending time with her family and her dogs Lucy and Lady.
She enjoyed cooking and gardening, with a special love for flowers.
Mable was a loving person with a big heart and will always be treasured by those who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her two sons, Sammy and Terry Garst, one brother, Roy Rigsby, two sisters, Irene Ford and Carrie Coggins, and several nieces and nephews.
Due to the circumstances surrounding COVID-19. and in consideration of the health of the family and that of the public, a private a graveside service to honor the life of Mable will be conducted at Pleasant Hill Church in Blountville, TN, Thursday May 7 at 11:00 am, with George Jones officiating. Active pall bears will be selected from family and friends.
